Halloween

For Halloween, Joe and I were a cowboy and cowgirl. Joe's costume was obviously better than mine because his was inflatable. :) He was very excited about- as were the little kids at our wards Trunk-Or-Treat. Our Trunk-or-Treat was fun, I've never been to one where a police helicopters search light is going through the neighborhood around us and almost through our parking lot. Love Ontario. :)

Picture soon to follow.

My parents and siblings came over to help us pass out candy since they don't get trick-or-treaters at their house. We had a good time!

HONEYMOON

I am so bad at blogging! I'm sorry! Now no one will read this because I took too long putting this up lol. But anyways..

Joe and I went on our honeymoon to Kauai October 15-22, 2010. It was so wonderful. We had a such a blast. We got in late Friday night and probably didn't get to our hotel until after 11:00. Luckily for us, our hotel was only like 6 minutes from the airport! You think I would've known this before hand but I'm not great with directions and I was in charge of booking everything, so Joe didn't know either lol.

I booked our hotel through Hotels.com and got a great deal. We stayed at the Aston Aloha Beach Hotel. We had an ocean view room and we were practically on the beach. It was fantastic. Joe and I did a lot of exploring while we were on Kauai. It wasn't the most relaxing vacation, but it was so much fun!

A list of things we did:
-Explored many beaches.
-Ziplined and swam in a swimming hole at a ranch.
-Rode ATVs through private property where movies like Indiana Jones, Mighty Joe Young, Jurasic Park, 6 Days 7 nights, etc was filmed (It's ok we were allowed:) ).
-Swung on the rope swing Harrison Ford used in "Raiders of the Lost Ark".
-Fed wild pigs.
-Kayaked and hiked a mile to a waterfall. We stood underneath it.
-Hiked to the highest swamp on earth.
-Hiked 8 miles-4 in and 4 out to see the highest swamp on earth.
-Went to a Luau and ate delicious food and watched great dancing.
-Had delicious snow cones.
-Saw Waimea Canyon- The Grand Canyon of the Pacific. BEAUTIFUL

August 2, 2010- MOVING IN

This mess drove Joe crazy! Everyday he'd come home from work and clean stuff and put it away. He was a great help!

Funny story. Wrapped up in those pink tablecloths is our brand new comforter that we decided to wash before putting it on our bed. Well, our washing machine is really really small, and Joe really had to pack this thing in there to get it washed. We were about the leave the house when I realized I smelled smoke, I turned around and there was black smoke coming from the washing machine. We ran over there and stopped the machine but then realized that we could see a fire right under the dryer. Joe got his drill and started unscrewing the front of the dryer while I ran outside to Joe's truck and brought in the fire extinguisher. After all of our fire fighting efforts we realized that was only the pilot light for the dryer, luckily we hadn't put it out. Apparently there is a flame that gets shot into this funnel in our dryer to heat it, who knew? Good news, our washer still works, we just don't wash our comforter in it. :) Shh... don't tell Roger! ;)

We are trying to get moved in. Thank goodness it doesn't still look like this! This mess drove us crazy, but I guess that's what happens when you're moving, unpacking, and opening presents all at once.

August 2, 2010- Our first meal in our new home: Alfredo... eaten with teaspoons and tablespoons on our towel table cloth. We realized that the one thing we didn't get for a wedding present- SILVERWARE. We had to improvise.

Fork Lifts and Fire Trucks

I have a few questions...
1. When will I not be super busy and have time to actually get things done?
2. When am I going to feel like I'm actually married?
3. Is this a preview of the rest of my life?

We have been So busy lately. I'm finishing up my internship at Avery Dennison in Pasadena so Joe and I leave the house at the same time every morning and I sit in traffic for at least an hour. I work a full day (sometimes more if I'm trying to avoid traffic or if I know Joe is working late), and then I drive home, again taking me around 1-1.5 hours. BLAH. So by the time I get home it's almost 7. Normally, I would rush home, Joe would greet me and I'd get started on dinner while we talk. But our schedule hasn't been normal lately.

Joe's brothers are moving locations for work- they needed a bigger place, so they are moving to a bigger warehouse in Chino, which they are doing ALL the construction on. Joe helps during the day when he can and in the evenings. So when I get home from work at 7, I change into my grubbie clothes and head straight over there. We usually are there til around 10 or 10:30 but we have stayed until almost midnight. Man does that make a long day! It's starting to look good over there though!

We went over there on Saturday for a few hours and I got to drive the fork lift. I know, I know...don't be jealous. I drive fire trucks AND fork lifts. Next on my list is the scissor lift. The fork lift was cool, I moved the dumpster from one area of the warehouse to the other. I had the fork lift lifted up so the dumpster was blocking my view of ANYTHING, so Joe was my navigator. Looking back I guess I could've lowered the lift...but I didn't think about that, I guess I was just too excited.

The beginning

Joe and I got married on July 30, 2010 in the Newport Beach temple. It was so amazing! That day was by far the LONGEST day of my life but it was so great. I really feel like it was perfect.

Just a little backgroung on us, Joe and I met right before our sophomore year of high school. He was always really sweet to me and of course, I hated him. I was a brat to him. This lasted a few months until I realized something- Joe always held open my door for me when we walked into places, he always said hi to me and tried talking to me, and he was always nice despite my brattiness and me ignoring him. I found this to be impressive and started looking at him differently. Anyways, long story short we got married, and we still love each other. :)
